They hire anyone, however trainers and fellow trainees that are younger really put mature trainees through a rough time with comments and letting them go because so called metrics aren't what they should be. No coaching help and patience or understanding, very discriminating.
yea they hire just about anybody but never give raises and even after working for 8-10 years no raises.

The American Red Cross is VERY welcoming to workers age 50+. They value this age group's talents and contributions to the mission of the organization. I am 54 years old and feel very welcome here. I was 52 when they hired me as a contractor! I don't even notice I'm a mature worker in this environment. I work with others with ages ranging from the 30s up to the 70s. You won't be disappointed with the working atmosphere at this organization as a mature, 50+ worker. I highly recommend it!
There a quite a few people 50 and over employed with this organization.

After reading the comments by those who express their perspective of age related discriminating practices by more than a few employers, I felt very concerned for older workers that need/desire employment. I wonder if these employers understand that it is not just the revenue from young adults that keep them in business. I wonder how they would survive if the older generation would stop supporting their businesses. I also wonder if these employers understand the principle of sowing and reaping? I am grateful to your agency for providing the results of your survey and your commitment to provide older workers with reliable job leads.
