Zurich North America one of the largest insurers in the U.S. has significantly downsized senior corporate employees. Like most insurers there is a cultural reluctance within HR to hire 55+ workers, which extends beyond restructuring, benefits and salary. At the same time the industry cannot attract young workers. Pairing the more experienced with new young employees would be beneficial but the culture is not there at Zurich or other insurers.
