I will just state the facts. I am a purchasing professional with over 15 years of extensive buying experience. In my past position Uline was a vendor of mine and I am familiar with their line of business. I live relatively close to their corporate office. I have applied for 4 different positions with Uline corporate office in Pleasant Prairie, WI since May 2015- Buyer (twice), Purchasing Analyst, Demand Planning Analyst, any of which I was well qualified for, but my applications were summarily rejected every time because per the rejection notice "they have other candidates more qualified". I know that salary requirement is not the issue as the positions generally pay the same or more than what I was earning in my prior position. Uline continues to advertise openings for these positions but shows no interest in my qualifications which are an excellent match for the positions I apply for. I can't even get an interview and at this point would not waste my time applying again with this company..I do not have DIRECT evidence, but based on my experience with this company, I strongly suspect that they are rejecting my applications primarily due to my age.

After reading the comments by those who express their perspective of age related discriminating practices by more than a few employers, I felt very concerned for older workers that need/desire employment. I wonder if these employers understand that it is not just the revenue from young adults that keep them in business.
