The company has changed, management and ideals have changed. The younger generation does not respect there seniors and store managers just don't see beyond there paychecks. Life is no longer good working for Publix. They feel the pressure of the competition and it shows in all area's.
Very friendly to workers over 50.
promotions are not offered to seniors. They do not consider the work loads offered your age what what you may or may not be able to do, lifting is a problem at 64
Publix has changed for everybody, they are driven by profit, its not the same company for anyone that has worked for them for years, there are good managers but a lot more bad managers, dignity and respect not ofetn there.

Not the company it used to be. The older you get the harder it is to get promoted and also other jobs within the company. Very friendly to workers over 50. if any are over 65 I want their face/body creams!

After reading the comments by those who express their perspective of age related discriminating practices by more than a few employers, I felt very concerned for older workers that need/desire employment. I wonder if these employers understand that it is not just the revenue from young adults that keep them in business. I wonder how they would survive if the older generation would stop supporting their businesses. I also wonder if these employers understand the principle of sowing and reaping?
