I was demoted from VP of Sales and replaced by a person about 20 years my junior. I had just signed contracts for over $20,000,000 in business and 2 weeks later was demoted. I was personally responsible for selling over $30,000,000 in business. I was given no warnings or unsatisfactory reviews. When I asked why I was told they wanted to go in a different direction. Three month earlier they demoted another senior manager who was 62.

Most of my co-workers are over 60 and are well treated. Its our work habits not our age the co is gauging.

I wonder if these employers understand that it is not just the revenue from young adults that keep them in business.
