The new owners are horrible! They expect you to be available to work 7 days a week, any hour of the day. It's acceptable to them to have you come in for two hours have a two hour break and then come back and work six more hours. They think nothing of cutting your hours down to next to nothing, they fire people by text message. No class, no business sense. They have let many employees over age 40 go.
They are hiring in very young employees. The ones fresh out of college and no experience whatsoever. Very rare to hire in older workers, because they can pay the young ones so little without the benefits we (the older workers) got when they started.
This company is 'imaged' based. They are will to take a person to a certain age group but after about 40 they would rather lay off and then re-hire younger (happens about every 2-3 years).

I wonder if these employers understand that it is not just the revenue from young adults that keep them in business.
