They actually lied and said I was hired one day and the next day I could not get in touch with anyone at the office and they never called back.

They will hire you, but you'll never get promoted unless you know someone who is high up. Most of the people they hire are the bottom of the barrel. Most of the people they promote are unqualified for the job, and they will ignore someone who is much older, more educated, and more experienced to promote the people who have connections to their managers. The salaries are low, $12-$14, and if you are part time, you won't get any benefits.

Had to take FMLA due to heal spur. No effort was made to find me desk work though I have considerable administrative/clerical skills. At 62, I feel I'm being 'shut out.'

Testimonials:

After reading the comments by those who express their perspective of age related discriminating practices by more than a few employers, I felt very concerned for older workers that need/desire employment. I wonder if these employers understand that it is not just the revenue from young adults that keep them in business. I wonder how they would survive if the older generation would stop supporting their businesses. I also wonder if these employers understand the principle of sowing and reaping? I am grateful to your agency for providing the results of your survey and your commitment to provide older workers with reliable job leads.
